This soap is made from pure vegetable ingredients. No animal by-products are used. Contains natural Mysore sandalwood oil distilled by the Government of Karnataka. Produced since 1918. Sandalwood is a product of the tropical sandalwood tree that grows in India. The best sandalwood is widely acknowledged to be from Mysore. The wood is harvested and made into a powder or oil and commonly used for many different products including aromatics like expensive perfumes and incense.

Sandalwood is an ancient Indian Ayurvedic remedy for many skin complaints and conditions. Sandalwood has antimicrobial properties making it a popular herbal antiseptic for treating minor skin abrasions like cuts and burns. It is also known to cleanse and condition the skin leaving it moisturized, free of germs and protected from the harmful rays of the sun.

Recommended in ancient Ayurvedic texts for skin care, especially for the complexion. The original method involves mixing powdered sandalwood with water and tumeric powder to form a paste.
